From August 2016 to February 2017, Rufmo Consulting Ltd, in collaboration with the
Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and Danish Demining Group (DDG), executed a series of
contracts aimed at reinvigorating the peacebuilding network in Somalia and
development of Community Development and Reconciliaton Plans (CDRP). This involved
training on Conflict Prevention, Management, and Resolution (CPMR), reviewing Xeer
documentation and development of CDRP plans. The project focused on strengthening
the capacity of local peace committees (Guurti) in Luuq and Warsheikh districts through
conflict management and leadership training, trauma healing workshops, and
community dialogue sessions. The initiative culminated in the popularization and formal
handover of the Xeer, enhancing local governance and conflict resolution mechanisms .
