Rufmo Consulting conducted a Participatory Action Research (PAR) for NEXUS
Consortium to investigate the intricate dynamics of humanitarian aid dependency
and the impact of climate change in Somalia. The study aimed to understand how
reliance on humanitarian aid affects communities’ resilience and adaptive capacities
amidst the escalating challenges posed by climate change. Engaging local
communities through participatory methods, the research provided valuable insights
into the socio-economic impacts and the effectiveness of current aid strategies. The
findings informed recommendations for sustainable aid practices and climate
adaptation strategies tailored to the unique needs of Somali communities.
